Visuals - Use AI to Brainstorm Graphics and Reels Concepts

Published on 5 July 2025 at 08:00

Ever sit down to design a post and go completely blank?

You’ve got the message… but what should it look like?

Should it be a quote graphic? A stat? A Reel with a trending sound?

When you’re stuck on how to bring your ideas to life visually - AI can help.
I use it weekly to generate concepts for Reels, carousels, graphics, and Stories.

Here’s how to feed your ideas into ChatGPT (or another AI tool) and get visual inspiration you can actually use across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

✅ Step 1: Give AI the Message You Want to Share

Start with a core idea. Maybe it’s:

  • A piece of advice

  • A client win

  • A common mistake

  • A quick tip from your service

The key is: you already know what you want to say - now you’re just asking, “What’s the best visual way to say it?”

✅ Step 2: Use This Prompt to Spark Design Ideas

💬 Prompt Template:

“Based on the following content, suggest 5 visual formats that would best clarify or amplify the key message. Prioritise strategic visuals like diagrams, process flows, frameworks, comparisons, or conceptual metaphors - not decorative images.

[Insert your message, tip, or idea here]”

This prompt works beautifully for:

  • Carousels

  • Reels (with overlay text or voiceovers)

  • Infographics

  • Before/after posts

  • Quote graphics with context

AI will help you turn an idea into a design-ready concept - so you’re not stuck staring at a blank Canva screen.

✅ Step 3: Match the Format to the Platform

Let’s say AI suggests:

  • A carousel showing “3 steps to…”

  • A Reel with a voiceover walkthrough

  • A “swipe to reveal the myth” post

  • A visual comparison (before vs after)

Here’s how I break it down:

  • Instagram: Carousels, Reels, animated Stories

  • TikTok: Quick video tips or voiceover sequences

  • Facebook: Visual posts with short captions or story-style text

  • LinkedIn: Clean carousels, stat graphics, or frameworks

You're not just posting any graphic - you're choosing a format that makes the idea easier to grasp.

✅ Step 4: Create It With Your Favourite Tool

I use Adobe Express when I want speed + brand consistency.
You could also use Canva, CapCut (for Reels), or Later for scheduling visual posts.

Tip: Create one or two templates you reuse and simply drop in the new idea each time.
